A North Bend, Neb., man was sentenced Tuesday to 24 months probation after pleading no contest to trying to make a video of a girl while she was undressing.
Dodge County Attorney Oliver Glass said a judge also ordered John S. Groh, 64, a senior vice president with Omaha-based Election Systems & Software Inc., to register as a sex offender.
Glass said Groh placed a video camera in a bathroom on July 7 that recorded an 11-year-old girl as she was preparing to shower. The girl found the camera, viewed the footage and reported it to her older sister and mother. Sgt. M.C. Ough of the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said Groh's wife turned the camera over to authorities.
Groh, who fled the state, was arrested Sept. 28 in Florida. He was convicted of a misdemeanor charge of attempting an unlawful intrusion.
