Nebraska to face Georgia in Capital One Bowl

The Capital One Bowl has announced that Nebraska will play Georgia in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 1.

The Capital One Bowl kicks off at 12 p.m. CST and is televised by ABC.

The appearance in the Capital One Bowl will be Nebraska's third trip to the Orlando bowl game. The Huskers participated in the contest following the 1990 season against Georgia Tech. Last season, Nebraska took on South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl, falling 30-13 to the Gamecocks.

Georgia makes its sixth appearance in the Capital One Bowl, its last coming in a 2009 victory over Michigan State. The Bulldogs won the SEC East for the second year in a row.

The trip to the Capital One Bowl is Nebraska's 49th all-time bowl appearance which is tied with USC and Tennessee for the third-most bowl appearances in the nation.

Tickets for the game are $87 and $92 and tickets will go on sale to the general public at 9 p.m. Sunday at Huskers.com. Nebraska will receive an allotment of 12,500 tickets for the game. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone beginning Monday morning by calling the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-8-BIG RED.
