Papillion-La Vista South setter Kelly Hunter is one of the six athletes honored in the “Faces in the Crowd’’ section of this week’s Sports Illustrated.
The article says the 5-foot-11 senior had 32 assists to help the top-ranked Titans to their third straight Class A state championship, sweeping No. 2 seed Omaha Marian 3-0. It also states that Hunter, a three-time all-state selection, led her team to a 119-1 record during her four-year high school career and broke the program’s single-season set-and-assist record with 808 this year.
Hunter, a member of the junior national team, will compete next season at Nebraska.
