Lincoln’s Pinewood Bowl is hosting another series of concerts this summer at the outdoor venue starting with Alice in Chains on May 24.
The Seattle grunge band is best known for songs such as “No Excuses” and “Heaven Beside You,” before original lead singer Layne Staley died in 2002. The band’s popularity bounced back with 2009’s “Black Gives Way to Blue” and the group has released a new single, “Hollow.”
Bullet For My Valentine and Halestorm will open the show. Tickets to the concert, $39.50 in advance and $45 day of show, go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster retail outlets, the Pershing Center box office and by phone at 800-745-3000.
Pinewood Bowl hosted six concerts in 2012, which included performances by My Morning Jacket, Train and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
