Lincoln — The Nebraska women defeated Notre Dame 4-1 in the championship match of the ITA Kick-Off on Sunday, earning the Huskers (4-0) a bid to the national team indoor championships Feb. 8 through 11.
No. 17 Nebraska won all three doubles matches before closing the victory with Maggy Lehmicke’s 7-5, 6-4 victory in No. 5 singles. Mary Weatherholt (No. 1), Patricia Veresova (No. 2) and Janine Weinreich (No. 4) also won their singles matches for the Huskers, who face their first Big Ten opponent of the year in a dual Saturday at Ohio State.
