Evanston, Ill. — The Nebraska swimming and diving team began competition at the Northwestern Invitational on Friday, finishing in the top three in three of the six events the Huskers competed in during the two-day tournament.
NU’s Taryn Collura came in second in the 50-yard freestyle and Hayley Martin, Shannon Guy, Bria Deveaux and Taryn Collura finished third in the 200-yard freestyle relay. In diving, Payton Michaud took third in the 3 meters.
The Huskers ended the day tied with Iowa 55-55, but trailing both Ohio State (66-41) and Northwestern (63-47) in their respective duals.
Saturday’s finals sessions begin at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
