EVANSTON, Ill. — The Nebraska women’s basketball team snuck past Northwestern 55-50 Thursday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
The Wildcats outscored Nebraska 12-4 to end the game, but ran out of time after clawing back from a 51-38 deficit.
Nebraska forward Jordan Hooper finished with 19 points and seven rebounds while Lindsey Moore chipped in 16 points.
Both teams had trouble getting on the board in the first half, shooting less than 26 percent from the field. The Huskers (17-6, 7-3 Big Ten) took a 25-17 lead into halftime as Hooper had a team-high seven points and three rebounds.
Nebraska led by as many as 15 points in the second half before Northwestern went on its run.
The Huskers shot 43 percent in the second half and were 4 of 7 from 3-point range after going 1 of 8 in the first half.
Lauren Douglas led the Wildcats (11-12, 3-7) with 14 points and Maggie Lyon added 12.
The Huskers will take on Iowa at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Iowa City.
