All year long: A local business, ACasseroleToGo.com, is designating 10 percent of its 2013 sales to CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, a national charity that provides support to those affected by children’s cancer. ACasseroleToGo.com, a division of Abraham Catering, offers homemade entrees, side dishes and desserts for takeout. Selections can be made online and picked up 48 hours later at 5520 Miller Ave. in Ralston. The company also is offering 20 percent off all orders through March 31 to kick off the charity partnership. Use the code “SAVE20” on the online order form.
Cancer charity: As part of its recent Save Second Base campaign, Twin Peaks Restaurants nationwide raised $22,000 for local breast cancer awareness charities. On a roll: On a fundraising mission for diabetes research, 212 bowlers from local unions kept the pins falling for nine hours recently at Sempeck’s Bowling & Entertainment. Fifty-seven teams competed for 12 trophies, resulting in combined monetary and in-kind contributions of $16,484.76. Raffle ticket sales will add to the total.
