A faulty stretch of electrical cable is being blamed for a power outage that affected 2,622 customers early Sunday in southwest Omaha, an OPPD spokeswoman said.
The outage was reported at 8:39 a.m., according to Omaha Public Power District official Paula Lukowski. Power for all but one customer — Mockingbird Elementary School at 5100 S. 93rd St. — was restored by 9:53 a.m.
The outage stretched from L to Harrison Streets and from 90th to 100th Streets. Lukowski said a crew was working to restore power to the school.
