EVANSTON, Ill, — The Nebraska men's team dropped a 5-2 decision Saturday against Northwestern in its Big Ten opener.
The Huskers (7-4, 0-1) swept the doubles matches, but managed just one win in singles play. Eric Sock had the lone victory for NU, rallying to beat Northwestern's Alex Pasareanu 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.
Andre Stenger, Dusty Boyer and Marc Herrmann all lost three-set matches for the Huskers, with Stenger losing in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 1 singles.
Nebraska competes next weekend in the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic at Montgomery, Ala.
