CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The No. 11 Nebraska men’s gymnastics team used a strong showing on the parallel bars — its sixth and final rotation — to defeat Illinois 425.400-424.250 on Saturday.
Freshman Sam Chamberlain, ranked 19th nationally in the parallel bars, scored a personal-best 15.10 in the event. Nebraska outscored the No. 6 Illini 72.850-71.800 in the event to seal the win.
Junior Wyatt Aycock led a balanced Husker squad, finishing third in the all-around with a score of 84.150.
The Huskers will next compete at the Big Ten championships April 5 and 6 in Minneapolis.
