Omaha police say one person was injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle traffic accident in South Omaha.
The accident occurred about 7:45 a.m. near Eighth and Bancroft Streets when a 2005 Suzuki Forenza was eastbound on Bancroft, attempted to make a left turn onto Eighth and struck a 1997 Ford Escort, police said.
Natividan Hernandez, 20, of Omaha, the driver of the Suzuki, told police that sun glare left her unable to see the Ford.
The two occupants of the Ford were taken to Creighton University Medical Center. The driver of the Escort, Meriyha Phillips, 33, suffered a possible head injury. She was treated at Creighton and released. An 8-year-old child was also taken to CUMC, police said, and was later found to be uninjured.
Hernandez also was not injured, police said, and she was cited for failure to yield.
