Tom Watson and 2010 champion Bernhard Langer are among the early entrants for the U.S. Senior Open at Omaha Country Club.
Friday marks 100 days before the championship week starts July 8 with the first of three days of practice rounds. The 72-hole championship is July 11 to 14.
“This is when it all comes together,” Patrick Duffy, 2013 U.S. Senior Open general chairman, said in a statement. “We want to thank everyone in Nebraska and beyond for their support and enthusiasm. Together we are poised to stage the most significant special event in Omaha this summer.”
Other entries received from exempt players by the sponsoring United States Golf Association include defending champion Roger Chapman and past winners Hale Irwin (1998, 2000), Graham Marsh (1997) and Peter Jacobsen (2004). U.S. Open champions Tom Kite and Corey Pavin, along with Tom Lehman, Loren Roberts, Mark O’Meara and Rocco Mediate, also have entered.
Tickets are available at Baker’s supermarkets and through the tournament’s website, www.2013ussenioropen.com.
