Two people were injured, including a teenager who was seriously hurt, Monday morning in a three-vehicle traffic accident in north Omaha.
Police said the accident occurred at 52nd Street and Sorensen Parkway about 7:30 a.m.
Officers said a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica was northbound on 52nd turning left onto westbound Sorensen, and a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse was eastbound on Sorensen. Both drivers told police that they had a green light before crashing. The force of the crash pushed the Traverse into a 2002 Dodge Caravan minivan that had stopped at the intersection.
A passenger in the Corsica was taken in serious condition to Creighton University Medical Center. The 14-year-old suffered a closed head injury, police said, and was listed in serious but stable condition.
The driver of the Traverse was taken to Immanuel Hospital with less serious injuries, suffering from neck and back pain.
The accident remains under investigation, police said.
