Omahan Peter Schropp is in Panama playing for the United States in the CONCACAF soccer championships that will determine qualifiers for the under-17 World Cup.
Schropp is one of six defenders and one of 19 chosen for the team from the U.S. residency program in Florida.
The U.S. opened with a 3-0 victory over Haiti on Sunday. The Americans play Guatemala in a Group C match Thursday.
The four semifinalists qualify for the World Cup in the United Arab Emerates from Oct. 17 to Nov. 8.
