The Nebraska bowling team will be chasing its fourth NCAA title since 2004 this weekend at the Super Bowl Lanes in Canton, Mich.
The Huskers are making their 10th straight NCAA appearance. Other qualifiers are Central Missouri, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Arkansas State, Vanderbilt, Sam Houston State, Wisconsin-Whitewater and Fairleigh Dickinson. Maryland-Eastern Shore is the two-time defending NCAA champion.
Qualifying rounds started Thursday with bracket play on Friday. Teams will then compete in best-of-seven-games Baker matches in a double-elimination tournament.
Coach Bill Straub is confident that NU will come out strong Thursday after a few good weeks of practice.
Sophomore Liz Kuhlkin has been one of the biggest surprises this year. She’s earned a spot on all-tournament teams four times.
The championship finals will air on ESPNU on Saturday at 7 p.m.
