LINCOLN — First, there was Jack Hoffman's 69-yard touchdown run at last weekend's Husker spring game in Memorial Stadium.
Then there was YouTube fame and international attention.
Now the 7-year-old Atkinson, Neb., boy with brain cancer and his parents are being recognized by the Nebraska Legislature.
Most state senators signed onto a resolution congratulating Jack on his touchdown run and his “courageous personal struggle with brain cancer.”
Legislative Resolution 145, introduced by State Sen. Beau McCoy of Omaha, also offers support to Jack's parents, Andy and Bri Hoffman, and to the Team Jack Legacy Fund, which they created to raise money for research on pediatric brain cancer.
By legislative rule, the resolution will be automatically approved.
