A Bellevue man and woman accused of raping their 5-year-old son now face new charges relating to child pornography.
Both waived a preliminary hearing Monday and had their cases moved to Sarpy County District Court.
The mother now faces five charges: first-degree sexual assault of a child, incest, two counts of visual depiction of sexual conduct and child abuse.
The father was charged with the same five crimes plus three additional counts of possessing child pornography.
In a separate case this week, a Sarpy County attorney moved to terminate their parental rights.
The couple was charged in February with sexual assault and incest after the boy told a therapist that his parents had assaulted him, an investigator wrote in an arrest warrant.
The mother had previously acknowledged the sexual assaults to her in-laws in September, but she later took it back, according to court records.
She said she'd been trying to get back at her husband for cheating on her, but she did not have a good explanation for why she said she was involved, according to an investigator.
The boy was removed from the home after allegations of violence and drug use.
