The leader of a north Omaha middle school will not return to the school next fall.
Susan Colvin, principal of Nathan Hale Middle School, has taken another position in the Omaha Public Schools, school board President Marian Fey said Wednesday.
Fey did not know what Colvin's new position would be.
Colvin, who has been in charge of the school since fall 2008, has been criticized for how she handled student complaints of sexual abuse by a former Nathan Hale teacher, Shad Knutson.
Three female students made allegations of sexual assault in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Omaha police began investigating only after one of the girl's parents contacted state officials in October 2010.
Last month, Knutson was convicted of having an inappropriate relationship with a female student. He faces three to 55 years in prison.
The school also performed poorly on state tests compared to other district and Omaha-area middle schools.
