Am 18-year-old man was in the hospital with injuries Monday night after being shot in north Omaha.
Police officers were on another call nearby when they heard shots near 36th and Pratt Streets.
They found that occupants of a red car fired at least three shots into a black, four-door sedan. A passenger in the sedan — a man in his early 20s — was hit.
The driver parked at Dailey's Package Liquors, 3113 N 30th St., and flagged down an officer.
“More than likely they were probably en route to the hospital,” said Omaha Police Lt. Mark Matuza.
The injured man was taken to Creighton University Medical Center. Matuza declined to say how many times he had been shot, or where. His injuries were considered nonlife-threatening.
The red car fled north. A police helicopter was searching for the car Monday night.
Later, about 2 a.m., police said a man suffered a gunshot wound to his lower leg.
The shooting was reported near 33rd and Lake Streets.
