Cuppycakes is moving to a new west Omaha location — in the former Omaha Cheesecake Bakery space.
Cuppycakes owner Shari Preister said her bakery, now called Cuppycakes Sweet Boutique, is opening today at 14242 Fort St.
Preister hired the baker who was working for the Omaha Cheesecake Bakery and, as a result, is expanding the bakery's lineup to include both cupcakes and cheesecakes as well as French macarons and whoopie pies.
The bakery also will have a coffee bar. Preister said she's trying to keep the offerings creative and use as many locally sourced ingredients as she can.
“We are using a habaŮero peach jam from Chili Dawgs in Blair for a cheesecake filling,” she said. “We also make a margarita cheesecake.”
The bakery will sell cheesecakes by the slice and as whole cakes, and the flavors of both cheesecake and cupcakes will change daily.
The phone number at Cuppycakes, which had been inside Sempek Lanes, is the same: 402-618-7874. For more information, visit <"http://www.cuppycakes.net" target="_blank">their website.
