An Omaha man was ordered held without bail Thursday after being charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of another man.
Jade M. Owens, 51, is accused of fatally stabbing Anthony Baker, 20, in front of Baker's home near 22nd and N Streets about 11 p.m. Monday.
Owens also is charged with use of a weapon to commit a felony and second-degree assault for allegedly stabbing Aaron Baker, 23.
A prosecutor said Thursday that Owens crossed the street to confront the Baker brothers, who had said something to him. Anthony Baker was stabbed in the heart and died at Creighton University Medical Center.
Valarie Hernandez, mother of the victims, has said Aaron Baker suffered about a 4-inch cut to his left forearm.
Owens has not been charged in a second stabbing incident that occurred a few blocks away. — Kevin Cole
