Sami Spenner won her third event Saturday at the Summit League outdoor track and field championship, helping UNO to a third-place finish.
Spenner was named the field championship MVP after winning the long jump, triple jump and heptathlon. He mark of 41-4½ in the triple jump Saturday would have been a school record had it not been wind-aided.
Katarina Zarudnaya earned UNO's other first-place finish Saturday, winning the 1,500 meters in 4:38.90.
Spenner earned 49 points for the Mavs, adding second-place finishes in the 100 and 200. She also was part of UNO's relay teams that earned 10 points.
Preseason favorite North Dakota State won the team title for the sixth straight year with 230.5 points. South Dakota was second at 151.5, while UNO had 143.
