KEARNEY, Neb. — University of Nebraska at Kearney first baseman and outfielder Brian Wuest is a semifinalist again for the 2013 Tino Martinez Award.
The award, which started in 2010, goes to the most outstanding Division II baseball player.
Wuest, from Prosper, Texas, started all 45 games for the Lopers, batting .397 with 17 doubles, 15 home runs and 64 RBIs. Drawing 42 walks, he led UNK in nine offensive categories while ranking first in the MIAA in slugging percentage (.821) and RBIs.
He has drawn Major League scouts to Kearney all season and likely will be drafted in June.
