COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — A 5-year-old Council Bluffs boy injured in a weekend carnival ride accident has been released from the hospital.
Trace Harman was on a Monster Truck ride at Bayliss Park on Friday night about 6:45 as part of the Celebrate CB event when the truck flipped and struck the truck in front of it. Police say the truck came loose from its hoist.
The ride was shut down and inspected by the Iowa Department of Elevator and Amusement Park Rides on Saturday.
Harman was belted into the truck with his brother and a friend. He suffered a laceration to the forehead and was treated at Nebraska Medical Center. A hospital spokeswoman said he was released Saturday.
The other children had minor injuries and were released Friday night.
