Police gang unit officers at an Omaha house where a man was shot Wednesday night arrested several suspects after a vehicle pursuit.
Gregory Bahati, 18, was struck by gunfire in front of his residence near 44th and Pratt Streets about 6:45 p.m., said Officer James Shade, a police spokesman.
Officers were there “conducting an investigation” at the time of the shooting, Shade said. He did not elaborate.
Bahati was taken to a hospital in critical condition, though Shade said his injury was not life-threatening.
The shooter left in a car that was pursued by officers to 16th and Victor Streets, where the gunman and others ran. It was not clear late Wednesday how many people were in the car.
Police reported at least two arrests. The suspects’ names and the role each played in the shooting were not clear.
