Omaha police on Friday arrested the man they allege was responsible for a killing on the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge.
Terrece R. Cox, 23, of Omaha is accused of shooting three men on the bridge early Wednesday.
Cox was booked on suspicion of second-degree murder, two counts of second-degree assault, three counts of using a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person.
Police also arrested Billy T. Kellogg, 27, of Omaha who was booked on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony. Officer James Shade, a police spokesman, did not elaborate on the role police say Kellogg played.
Shamari Richards, 26, of Omaha was killed in the 1:15 a.m. shooting. Kevin Jenkins, 29, and Jeremy Fejeran, 19, also were shot and have been released from a hospital.
Police initially were trying to determine whether Richards accidentally shot himself, Jenkins and Fejeran during a struggle.
Several intoxicated young men and women, some from rival gangs, were on the bridge when a struggle began over Richards' revolver, a police source had said. That theory fell apart when the bullet recovered from Richards' body did not match a gun belonging to Richards or his associates.
