For Super Saver customers ...
Super Saver grocery stores around Nebraska are giving away free doughnuts Friday to celebrate National Donut Day.
Starting at 7 a.m., the first 200 customers at every location will get one free glazed doughnut from the store's bakery.
The Chicago Salvation Army started National Donut Day as a way to honor the women who served doughnuts to the soldiers during World War I. It takes place the first Friday of June each year. To find a Super Saver location near you, visit super-saver.com.
... and for those who frequent LaMar's
LaMar's Donuts also will give away free doughnuts Friday. Patrons each will receive a free doughnut with no other purchase necessary.
This year, LaMar's is partnering with Salvation Army chapters to raise money for a variety of humanitarian causes. Donation kettles will be placed in the shops, and the restaurant is giving a portion of the day's proceeds to the Salvation Army Oklahoma Relief fund.
