A Council Bluffs motorcyclist and his passenger were injured early Monday when their cycle struck a deer on southbound Interstate 29 just north of the Bluffs.
The Iowa State Patrol said Jeffrey Walker, 37 and his passenger, Megan Walker, 36, were injured and taken to a hospital in the Bluffs after the 1:10 a.m. accident in Pottawattamie County.
Walker was southbound on a 2006 Kawasaki when the deer entered the roadway from the median, the patrol said. The passenger was thrown from the cycle, the patrol said, while the driver was pinned briefly under the bike.
The Walkers were wearing helmets, the patrol said.
