An Omaha police officer was punched in the face when he tried to arrest a woman for disturbing the peace.
Officer Steven Patrick, who was not injured, and another officer were called to 35th and Harney Streets about 5 a.m. Thursday on a report of a disturbance.
They found a 53-year-old woman yelling and screaming in the backyard, police said. When attempts to calm her down failed, Patrick told the woman she was under arrest.
She punched Patrick before officers subdued her, police said. The woman was booked on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and disturbing the peace.
