LINCOLN — Nebraska softball coach Rhonda Revelle and her staff of Lori Sippel, Diane Miller and Katie Brown were collectively honored on Wednesday, when the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced they had been chosen as the Midwest Region coaching staff of the year.
It’s the third time in Revelle’s tenure that her staff has earned the honor.
A trip to the Women’s College World Series was the highlight for this year’s team, which finished No. 8 in the final rankings after being unranked and not receiving any votes in the preseason polls. With a roster featuring seven freshmen among its 16 players and a pitching staff featuring only one hurler with college experience, the Husker coaching staff led Nebraska to a 45-16 record, tying for the fifth-most victories in school history.
