The Omaha Storm Chasers welcomed their millionth fan in two-plus seasons at Werner Park when 10-year-old Jaden Holman of Bellevue was the 5,403rd fan into the ballpark for Friday’s game with the Iowa Cubs.
Jaden, above with Storm Chasers President and General Manager Martie Cordaro, said he wasn’t sure what was going on when there was suddenly a lot of noise and a crowd around him.
“I was shocked, and I didn’t know what happened,” he said.
Jaden, who attends LeMay Elementary in Bellevue, received a prize package that included tickets to 10 Storm Chasers home games, a Storm Chasers jersey and a 2013 season pass to the Centris Family Fun Zone.
Jaden said he doesn’t attend many Storm Chaser games, but said he is a baseball fan and his favorite player is Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He was attending the game with his family as part of the Black Hills Energy family picnic.
