DC’s Saloon will close after 22 years in business Sunday.
“Basically it’s just time,” co-owner Danny Johnson said. He and his partner, Charley Wade, will retire after selling the building at 610 S. 14th St. He noted a changing bar scene and his age and that of his partner as the reasons for selling.
The bar will host a “parting show” Saturday at 9 p.m. “I think a lot of people I talked to who have been customers for years will be there for that,” Johnson said.
This weekend will mark the bar’s 22nd anniversary. It opened as a gay and lesbian country and western bar in 1991, Johnson said.
