Thompson Law Office says it plans to open an office in Chadron to better serve clients in northwest Nebraska.
Attorney Jane Long will work from the office, with support from the firm’s nine Omaha attorneys and legal professionals, Thompson Law said.
“As Chief Justice Michael Heavican and others in the Nebraska legal system have noted, the availability of legal services in rural communities has dwindled over the past 20 years,” said Ben Thompson, the firm’s managing attorney. “We are excited to reverse that trend in Dawes County and supply our Chadron law office with access to the same cutting-edge tools and resources that we have in our Omaha office.”
The public is invited to an open house at the firm’s new office at 408 Main St. in Chadron from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. The Chadron Chamber of Commerce will assist with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:15 p.m. The event coincides with the opening of the annual Fur Trade Days.
