A 29-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday night in an accident with a sport utility vehicle in Norfolk, Neb.
Police said they found Brandon Blum, a Norfolk resident, pinned beneath a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Humberto Costilla, 18, of O’Neill, Neb.
Witnesses told police that Blum was eastbound on Omaha Avenue about 8 p.m. and was overtaking a car. They said the car began to merge into the cyclist’s lane and Blum drove onto a median, where he fell from the motorcycle. Blum and the motorcycle then entered a westbound lane, with Blum sliding under the Suburban and the motorcycle striking the SUV head-on.
Blum was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody was injured in the SUV.
