GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Police were investigating the reported sexual assault of a 3-year-old girl at an in-home day care.
The incident was reported through the Child Abuse Hotline and the matter was assigned to a child abuse investigator, Grand Island Police Chief Steve Lamken said.
The assault was reported as a third-degree sexual assault that occurred on June 28.
Further information on the assault wasn't released.
Lamken said the day care is operated in a home and isn't licensed. He declined to provide the name of the day care or its operator, or say whether the suspect is an adult or a child.
