City of Omaha traffic engineers say that Wednesday at 9 a.m., Swain Construction will begin 40 days of work on pedestrian sidewalk improvements to midtown Dodge Street.
The upgrades will run along Dodge from 50th Street to 52nd Street.
To maintain two lanes of traffic for eastbound and westbound motorists, engineers said, Dodge Street's center reversible lane will be westbound only while work is completed on the north side of Omaha's main thoroughfare.
The center lane will then switch to eastbound only while work is wrapped up on the south side of Dodge Street.
The changes and restrictions will be in place during the 40 days of the project, engineers said.
