The inaugural Washington County Fair Bicycle Ride is Sunday morning.
Cyclists are invited to bike 33 miles from Bennington, Neb. – about 20 minutes northwest of Omaha – to Arlington, Neb.
Organizers said the route is smooth and scenic. They hope the ride will expose people to the Washington County Fair, which runs July 26 through July 31 in Arlington, Neb.
The fair highlights agriculture and livestock production. There is a pancake feed at the fair that cyclists are invited to attend. Both the ride and the pancake feed are free. There will also be a beer garden at the fair. Riders 21 and older will receive a beer token.
The ride begins at 8 a.m. near Bennington Elementary school at North 156th Street and Bennington Road. To see the route map, click here.
