A 97-second shopping spree will go to a lucky customer this Sunday at the grand opening celebration of Omaha's Supermercado Nuestra Familia.

The 2:30 p.m. spree is part of the overall celebration that spans from noon to 4 p.m. at the 29th and Leavenworth Streets store.

The Supermercado, which is the former Avanza grocery, represents a new concept led by parent company Nash Finch, which also owns grocery chains Bag ’N Save and No Frills.

The updates at the market are all part of a push to give customers more variety in perishable items.

Sunday, visitors also can sample Latino delicacies and check out the new panaderia, tortilleria and carniceria.

Face painters and clowns also will be at the family event, which is open to the public.
