Combat veterans from Nebraska and western Iowa will have a chance to preserve their war stories for history next week at events in Lincoln and Bellevue.
U.S. Reps. Jeff Fortenberry and Lee Terry are coordinating the event with the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project.
“It's a good opportunity to preserve the stories for generations to come,” said Josh Moenning, an aide to Fortenberry.
The Lincoln event will take place at noon Monday at the Cornhusker Hotel, 301 S. 13th St.
The Bellevue event will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home, 12505 S. 40th St.
The events are open to the public. However, veterans are asked to RSVP by calling Fortenberry's office, 402-438-1598.
