Scott Brown wasn’t dreaming of holes in one or winning a car when he teed off on the 12th hole at Oak Hills Country Club.
The commercial real estate broker was thinking about work instead.
Then his ball bounced once and landed in the cup.
“I realized I had just won a car,’’ Brown said. “It was a pretty exciting moment.’’
Brown, 41, aced the 175-yard 12th hole with a 6-iron during the Fair Deal Open sponsored by Gregg Young Chevrolet.
His prize is a fully loaded 2014 Chevy Impala. He’ll pick it up when the insurance paperwork is complete.
“It will be a nice upgrade,’’ Brown said.
Witnesses were his dad, Paul, his brother-in-law Rob Luellen and Brian Best.
Luellen has been on hand for both of Brown’s aces, including his first in 2007 at Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln.
“I’ve probably played 50 rounds of golf with Rob and had two holes in one,’’ Brown said. “I’d say he was pretty good luck for me.’’
Brown said it was special that his dad got to see his big moment. Paul Brown doesn’t have an ace and had never seen one go in, either.
Playing golf with his family is one of the best things about the game for Brown, who started on the links when he was 6.
“It’s the best way to spend the afternoon on a nice day,’’ he said. “It’s not about the game itself. It’s more about being outside with nature and enjoying the company of your friends.’’
