Husker forwards Mayme Conroy and Jordan Jackson and defender Ari Romero were chosen as preseason players to watch.
NU will hold an exhibition match against Colorado College at the Nebraska Soccer Field on Friday at 4 p.m. Admission is free.
The Huskers and Tigers last met in the preseason in 2009, with NU winning 2-0.
Coach John Walker returns an experienced squad with six seniors, including second-team All-Big Ten selection Romero and fellow defender Maritza Hayes, who has started every game of the past three seasons. Goalkeeper Emma Stevens has started all but one match over the past two seasons.
The Huskers also welcome back Jackson, who was set to play her senior season in 2012 before an injury resulted in her receiving an extra year of eligibility.
Conroy had a breakout season for the Huskers in 2012 on her way to earning second-team All-Big Ten honors. She led the Huskers with 14 goals.
NU will open the regular season next weekend with the Husker Classic. The Huskers will face Southeast Missouri State at 6 p.m. on Aug. 23 and Cincinnati at noon on Aug. 25.
