Pohlman wins fifth Nebraska Senior Women's Amateur

OAKLAND, Neb. — A chip-in for birdie on the first playoff hole Wednesday lifted Omaha’s Jane Pohlman to her fifth Nebraska Senior Women’s Amateur title.

Pohlman ended the 54-hole tournament at Oakland Golf Club tied with three-time defending champion Susan Marchese of Omaha at 10-over-par 226.

Marchese led by three strokes after shooting a tourney-low 69 in the second round and was ahead by four with nine holes left in the final round before falling into a tie with four holes left.

Pohlman bogeyed the 15th but recovered the lost stroke with a birdie on the 17th. Her chip-in in the playoff came from the back of the green.
