A 22-year-old Omaha man died early Saturday in a single-vehicle traffic accident on Interstate 35 in Kansas City, Mo., the second Omaha man to die in a Kansas City accident in about a week.
Kansas City police said Mick (Tyler) Frederes died in the 2:38 a.m. crash on northbound I-35 at Cambridge Circle.
Police said Frederes was alone in the Honda Accord in a construction zone marked with work cones when the accident happened.
Frederes was killed after the Accord struck a flatbed construction trailer parked in the work zone, authorities said.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
Aug. 11, Thomas Salistean, 39, of Omaha also was killed in a traffic accident in Kansas City.
Salistean and a friend, Elvia Waters, 36, of Lees Summit, Mo,., were killed when their car was struck by another vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Salistean's fled from the scene.
