Work crews at Shadow Lake Towne Center are busy constructing two new buildings that will welcome several new retailers over the next few months.

A Firestone Complete Auto Care Store, which is expected to open by the end of October, will occupy one of the buildings. The 7,600-square-foot store will have 10 bays and offer a variety of automotive services and products, including vehicle inspections, oil changes, engine repair and new tires and batteries.

The second building, a 7,700-square-foot structure, will house a Sprint store and two additional tenants that have not yet been named. The building's planned completion date is October. Sprint is expected to open before the end of the year, said Kim Jones, the center's marketing director.

Both buildings are being built in the southeast corner of the shopping center, which is at Highway 370 and 72nd Street in Papillion.

In addition, Jones said:

>> The American Eagle Outfitters store at Shadow Lake Towne Center closed Sunday. The Shadow Lake store opened in 2008. The 6,225-square-foot store was located just off center court.

American Eagle stores at Oak View Mall, Westroads Mall and Village Pointe shopping center remain open, and the chain, which carries trend-setting apparel for men and women, is planning to open a factory store in Gretna at the new Nebraska Crossing Outlets mall, scheduled to open Nov. 15.

>> The Mattress People, a local mattress and bedding retailer, will open by the end of August in a temporary location next to the Bath & Body Works store on Shadow Lake's Main Street. The space was formerly used for seasonal holiday displays.

>> Spirit Halloween, a seasonal retailer offering Halloween-themed merchandise and costumes for adults and children, will open again this year at Shadow Lake. The specialty store, which will be located in the former Borders space directly across from the Old Navy and Orange Leaf Yogurt stores on the center's Main Street, is expected to open by the end of the month if not sooner, Jones said.
