It appears the extreme highs are behind us.
While not exactly cool, today's projected high in the mid-80s is a nice reprieve from the blistering heat of last week. And the rest of the week is expected to be pleasant for Omaha, as well, according to the National Weather Service.
The Labor Day forecast is the best of the week. High in the low 80s, sunny, light winds. Overnight lows in the 50s.
The rest of the week will see highs in the mid- to upper-80s and clear skies.
Though highs could reach the lower 90s by the weekend, that's as hot as it's expected to get this month.
Early Sunday morning, Omaha also got some relief in the form of rain, though not a lot of it.
The National Weather Service Omaha/Valley office reported less than half an inch in the metro area, with the higher totals concentrated along the Missouri River.
Some pretty strong wind gusts also hit the area Sunday morning. The strongest one measured at 48 mph at Eppley Airfield.
