Bob Monkey’s Noodle Zoo in Dundee has closed, and the restaurant has been replaced with a new one, Zephyr Lily Cafe.
G.K. Gammon, who owns the cafe and is also the chef, said everything on the menu is made in house, from scratch.
“We don’t have a microwave, a fryer or a can opener,” he said.
The restaurant has an ever-changing menu of entrées, Gammon said, and a list of sandwiches and salads that remain the same. A recent menu included a brisket sandwich; a turkey BLT; a variety of meatloaf, chicken and black bean sliders; jambalaya; and a duck salad.
Gammon said the restaurant has work from ten local artists on the walls and will play host to art shows. He also has plans for evening wine tastings.
The restaurant’s hours are Monday-Friday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Zephyr Lily is at 4950 Dodge St. and the phone number is 402-932-9971.
