Rockbrook Village is welcoming three new stores, and two of them — Magpie and Early to Bed — are expected to open in time for the shopping center's annual art fair Saturday and Sunday.
With their arrival, the shopping center at 108th Street and West Center Road is near capacity, spokeswoman Merrilee Miller said.
>> Magpie, at 1,500 square feet, will offer unique home accessories, including designs by Alessi. Owner Rose Nied has returned to her hometown to open the home decor store. Nied said Magpie, which is named after the bird that collects “shiny, glittery objects for its nest,” will offer “jewelry for the home.” Nied will offer a “sneak peek” Saturday and Sunday. Nied will continue to add merchandise to the store, aiming for a full-scale opening in October.
Magpie will be in the former Silversmith Jewelry space, located at the west end of Rockbrook. Silversmith, now Alletti Jewelry, has expanded and moved to a larger location at Rockbrook.
>> Early to Bed is moving to Rockbrook from Countryside Village. Founded in 1997, Early to Bed owner Brandi Rezac offers an eclectic mix of luxury designer textiles and home accessories, along with fine laundry products, down comforters and down pillows.
The store will open in an 1,100-square-foot space formerly occupied by A Well-Dressed Window.
>> The third newcomer, Clothier's Daughter, is expected to open in November with co-owners Jacki and Anastasia Lasley, mother and daughter, at the helm. The 1,200-square-foot store will feature mid- to high-end contemporary designer collections new to Omaha shoppers.
Clothier's Daughter will be located in the former Ready or Knot Wedding Chic, which is relocating within Rockbrook.
The 42nd annual Rockbrook Village Art Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. More than 140 artists from around the country will sell their wares, including jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, painting, glass and leather items.
The fair, sponsored by the Rockbrook Village Merchant's Association, also will feature an outdoor food court and inside dining at the shopping center's restaurants.
