WEEPING WATER, Neb. (AP) — A 44-year-old man from Murray was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Nebraska Highway 50 Wednesday.
According to the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Keith L. Turner was killed in the accident about 1:30 p.m. just northwest of Weeping Water.
Murray was headed south on the highway when his Hyundai Sonata was hit from behind as it was turning east onto McKelvie Road. The impact knocked the car into the path of a northbound Freightliner semitrailer hauling rock. That impact knocked Turner's car back across the highway and into a ditch.
The car that hit Turner was an Acura Infinity driven by Chase Lautenbach, 22, of the Elkhorn area. The truck driver was Randy E. Fletcher, 48 of Weeping Water. Both men declined to be taken in for medical treatment.
All three drivers were using seat belts.
