An Omaha teenager told police he was wounded by gunfire while walking Saturday night near 29th and Parker Streets.
Officer Michael Pecha, an Omaha police spokesman, said Major Williams, 15, was taken to Creighton University Medical Center with an injury that was not thought to be life-threatening. A hospital spokesman said no information about Williams’ condition was being released.
Pecha said officers were called to an apartment at 2901 Parker St. about 8:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Officers found Williams, who told them that someone fired several shots at him while he was walking nearby.
According to Douglas County Court records, Williams is in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. He is awaiting trial in juvenile court on suspicion of shoplifting.
